December 19, 2017 – Albany, N.Y. – Tully Rinckey PLLC is pleased to announce the promotion of Derrick T. Hogan, Esq. from Senior Associate to Partner.

Derrick has risen through the ranks since joining the nationwide law firm’s Albany headquarters as a law clerk approximately 10 years ago. He became a Client Relations Attorney, where he oversaw the operations of the firm’s Client Relations Department and provided legal assistance to potential new clients. After serving as the firm’s Client Relations Attorney, Derrick’s legal practice focused on the area of criminal defense. Along the way, he was named an “Up and Comer” by the Albany Times Union in 2009 and, this year, earned a “Super Lawyers” rating from Thomson Reuters. Derrick also has earned a “Top Attorney” rating from Avvo.

As a criminal defense attorney, Derrick has represented clients facing an array of charges, including all classifications of misdemeanors and felonies under New York State’s Penal Law and Vehicle and Traffic Law, as well as federal criminal charges. He brings a wealth of legal knowledge in multiple practice areas, based on his experience as a Client Relations Attorney. Derrick has also worked to help veterans receive monetary compensation through the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) resulting from unfair employment practices committed against them. In addition to participating in hearings and engaging in settlement negotiations before the Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB), Derrick has drafted briefs submitted to the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
