ALBANY, N.Y. – Tully Rinckey PLLC is pleased to announce the addition of Senior Associate Andrew Botts to the firm’s Albany office where he will focus his practice in military law and criminal defense.

Mr. Botts joins the firm after serving as a lead homicide prosecutor, where he and his team of detectives and investigators successfully prosecuted several murders. During his time as a prosecutor, he led investigations from the first 9-1-1 call through trial and verdict involving variety of offenses, ranging from simple larcenies and DWIs, to burglaries, robberies, guns, sex offenses, and homicide.

Mr. Botts also serves as a Judge Advocate with the New York Army National Guard. In December of 2019, he was promoted to Captain, and in 2020 he deployed as the Senior Trial Counsel with the 42nd Infantry Division in support of Operation Spartan Shield. His awards include the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary and Service Medals and the Army Commendation Medal.

Mr. Botts received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science – Law and Society, with honors, from the University of California, Riverside. He graduated, cum laude, from Syracuse University College of Law where he served as the Form and Accuracy Editor with the Journal of International Law and Commerce.
