NEW YORK (WRGB) — We’re looking into what comes next for not only the transition of power from the Biden administration to the new Donald Trump administration.
But what’s next for Trump’s legal battles, as those have not gone away?
In our nation’s history, we’ve never seen a criminal defendant get elected to our country’s highest office, just like we’d never see a former president be criminally charged until last year.
“America has given us an unprecedented and powerful mandate,” said President-elect Donald Trump after the landslide win Tuesday night.
However, we are about to enter even more unprecedented times as Trump’s legal battles continue.
Trump has two pending federal cases in Florida and Washington D.C. and criminal charges in Fulton County Georgia.
“But the case specifically in New York is the interesting one because he’s been found guilty of the 34 counts here,” said Matthew Winchell, attorney at Tully Rinckey PLLC.
Most recently, Trump’s lawyers have delayed sentencing in the federal conviction until after the election, now that the election is over, what’s next?
The judge has until November 12th to decide on how to move forward.
