Donald Trump found guilty. What next?

As Featured On:

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — For the first time in U.S. history, a former president has been convicted of crimes. Donald Trump was found guilty on all 34 counts against him, felony charges of falsifying business records to cover up a hush money payment.

It took the jury around 10 hours to find the former president guilty. He spent nearly six weeks listening to 80 hours of witness testimony. Sentencing is scheduled for July 11, only four days before the Republican National Convention.

With the verdict in, the question remains: What happens next?

NEWS10 has expert reaction from Peter Pullano, managing partner of the Tully Rinckey Office in Rochester; Dr. Len Carter, the chair of the Political Science Department at Siena College; and Julie Nokov, UAlbany political science professor, to discuss sentencing expectations, the appeal process, and the potential impact on the presidential campaign.
