Renee Toney is an Associate in Tully Rinckey PLLC’s Buffalo office, where she practices Federal Labor and Employment Law. She is a native of Georgetown, Guyana, and a graduate of John Jay College of Criminal Justice and the University at Buffalo School of Law.
Prior to joining Tully Rinckey, Renee worked as a Legal Aide for the New York Attorney General’s Office, Labor Bureau Division, where she dedicated her time to investigating labor violations such as unpaid wages, wrongful termination; and COVID sick leave/termination. Renee also has extensive mediation training by participating in the University at Buffalo School of Law Mediation Clinic.
Renee began her legal career focusing on Immigration law and Civil Rights law. Her passion has always been to help and provide legal assistance to lower-income communities. While in college, Renee spent a winter break studying abroad in Athens, Greece. While abroad, she had the opportunity to learn how Greece’s immigration laws have influenced its rising multi-racial and multi-ethnic societies and how these societies have shaped the other statutes in Greece. Renee has used this knowledge to write several research papers on immigration laws in the United States.
