Maureen A. Porette, Esq. is a partner in the White Plains, N.Y. office of Tully Rinckey PLLC. For well over three decades, Ms. Porette has practiced in numerous areas of law, including matrimonial and family, criminal defense, government affairs and legislation, securities regulation and compliance.

She was most recently Chief of Staff, Legislative Counsel and Committee Clerk to the Corporations, Commissions and Authorities committee in the New York State Assembly, before joining our firm and focusing her practice on matrimonial and family law.

Ms. Porette has volunteered for numerous organizations, including providing pro bono legal services to the Rockland County Pride Center, Nyack, N.Y., the Center for Safety and Change, New City, N.Y. and the Riverkeeper, Ossining, N.Y., serving as an Executive Board Member and Law Chair to the Rockland County Democratic Committee, delivering Meals on Wheels, Nanuet, N.Y. throughout Rockland County, serving as Troop and Cub Scout Leader for the Boys Scouts of America, Thiells, N.Y. and coaching numerous teams for the Stony Point Soccer Association, Stony Point, N.Y.

For her years of service to her community, Ms. Porette has received many awards, including the American Association of University Women’s Champion of Justice Award, February 2019; the New York State Assembly Citation: Champion of Justice Award, February 2019; the New York State Assembly Citation: Service to the Community of Rockland County, February 2019; the Legislature of Rockland County, Distinguished Service Award, February 2019; the New York State Assembly Citation: Service in the Political Arena, February 2018; the Rockland County Democratic Committee, Certificate of Appreciation, April 2018; the Town of Haverstraw, Distinguished Service Award, April 2018 and the Stony Point Democratic Committee, Woman of the Year, 2018.

Ms. Porette graduated from Fordham University with her Bachelor of Science in Finance and earned her J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law, where she was published on the FMLA: The Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993: The Time Has Finally Come for Governmental Recognition of True “Family Values”, St. John’s Journal of Legal Commentary, Spring 1993.
