ALBANY — A year ago, Semblence Medspa and owner Dr. Farah Sajid were on a roll.
Dr. Sajid, who had previously worked as a pediatrician at the Troy Pediatric Health Center, was opening her new business, Semblence Medspa on the corner of North Pearl and Steuben streets.
It was a perfect location, right in the heart of downtown Albany — offering state-of-the-art medical spa services to the growing number of downtown residents, services like body sculpting, Botox, skin tightening and hair removal, as well as facials and chemical peels.
City and state officials, including Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan and Assemblyman John McDonald III, expressed a lot of excitement that the spa’s arrival was part of an urban renaissance, which also includes many new apartments and the arrival of businesses in long-vacant storefronts.
