- The page was made by three attorneys representing the whistle-blower, whose allegations led to the impeachment inquiry into Donald Trump
- Donations made go to cover the whistle-blower’s legal fees and the rest will go towards Whistleblower Aid representing future whistle-blowers
- The new whistle-blower is asking Intelligence community Inspector General Michael Atkinson to look into the GoFundMe page
- The individual alleges the page does not comply with federal law that prohibits intelligence officials from accepting gifts given because of their position
- So far it has brought in more than $277,000 from nearly 6,000 donors
A complaint filed last week reveals the whistle-blower whose allegations led to the impeachment inquiry into Donald Trump may have broken the law by indirectly soliciting more than $227,000 on a GoFundMe page.
The new whistle-blower complaint, obtained by Fox News and published Tuesday, alleges the donations ‘clearly constitute’ gifts to a current intelligence official – which violates federal law.
