RENSSELAER COUNTY, NY (WRGB) — A jury has found three employees of Rensselaer County not guilty of all charges connected to accusations of ballot fraud in the 2021 primary and general elections.

Rich Crist, James Gordon, and Leslie Wallace were all accused of violating the constitutional rights of voters, and acting illegally while filling out dozens of fraudulent absentee ballots in the 2021 election on behalf of county workers and other Rensselaer County voters. Rich Crist has served as the Director of Operations, James Gordon has served as the Director of the County’s Bureau of Central Services, and Leslie Wallace has served as an assistant for constituent relations at the County Executive’s Office.

The defendants were met with a round of applause when they walked out of the the James T. Foley Federal New York Courthouse Wednesday by friends, family, and Rensselaer County workers.

“We thank the jury for their careful and fair consideration,” said Crist following the verdict. “We want to thank all our supporters our friends and family for tremendous support when many walked away, and there were lonely days, but you stood by us, and this is your victory too, thank you very much.”
