Carol A. Crossett is a Partner in the New York City office of Tully Rinckey PLLC and head of the Commercial Law Group. Carol’s primary practice area is corporate and commercial business litigation and transactions.
Carol brings a diverse background forged over many years having represented individuals and companies in commercial, corporate and civil litigation through all phases from inception to trial in both state and federal courts. She has also represented clients by pro hac vice admission, in several state and federal courts outside New York.
Carol has represented a wide range of businesses, including manufacturers, retailers and dealers in the marine industry, franchise retailers in various industries, and automobile dealer franchises.
Carol has extensive experience handling contracts, corporate transactions, and business succession planning involving stock and/or asset transfers.
Carol’s practice includes business and corporate consultation in the formation and operation of various business entities, and clients in need of other forms of business guidance. She has also represented businesses in labor and employment matters, and before the Attorney General & Department of Consumer Affairs.
Carol also represents clients involving trusts and estates matters. This area of practice involves estate planning and preparation of wills, trusts, and other ancillary instruments and directives. She also handles contested and uncontested probate and administration proceedings, administrative accountings, will construction, turnover proceedings, removal of trustees and executors, and other matters involving trustees, executors and beneficiaries.
Carol received her Juris Doctorate from Northeastern University School of Law and an LL.M (Master of Law) in corporate taxation from New York University School of Law.
She is admitted to the New York State Bar and admitted to practice in the following federal courts: U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.
In addition to representation in New York, Carol also currently represents clients outside New York by admission pro hac vice in the U.S. District Court of Nevada and the Superior Court of New Jersey, with past admissions pro hac vice representing clients in matters commenced in California, Connecticut, Florida, New Hampshire, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas.
