Marketplace: Upstate Law Firm Expands Near Binghamton
By Monica Paquette
Expanding its presence into New York’s Southern Tier region, Tully Rinckey has opened a new office at 4100 Vestal Road in Vestal, about 10 miles from downtown Binghamton.
The Albany-based, full-service law firm has leased 1,700 square foot from Kradjian Properties, the owner of the three-story, 33,600-square-foot office building in Vestal Executive Park and across from main entrance of Binghamton University.
The firm spent about six months in temporary space in downtown Binghamton before crossing the Susquehanna River to the new location.
The firm was represented in-house by founding partner Mathew Tully.
The landlord did not have legal counsel; the lease was handled by CBRE senior brokers Martin Dowd and Rick Searles in Syracuse.
For the seventh consecutive year, Tully Rinckey has been recognized by Inc.’s 5000 list of fastest growing companies in the nation. The Albany Business Review reported the law firm as the “third fastest growing business” in New York’s Capital Region.
“We continue to practice as a modern, innovative, non-traditional firm and see a bright future for the firm and strong demand for legal services as we continue to grow throughout the state,” Tully said in a statement.
The terms of the lease were not disclosed but the general rental market range for office space in the Binghamton area is about $12 to $17 per square foot. Kradjian also modified the space to meet the firm’s specifications, including high-definition video conferencing services.
“Vestal Executive Park is very pleased to welcome Tully Rinckey PLLC as its newest tenant,” vice president Christopher Kradjian said. “We look forward to a long-term relationship as they continue their aggressive nation-wide expansion.”
Kradjian Properties is a community-based, family real estate development and management company that specializes in office, retail, residential, industrial and public sector development and has been involved in a variety of works in downtown Binghamton.
Tully Rinckey’s Binghamton office, which will accommodate six attorneys, is being led by managing partner Peter Charnetsky, a former Broome County Family Court judge and acting Supreme Court justice. He is a settlement officer with the Appellate Division, Third Department’s Civil Appeals Settlement Program.
The firm’s scope includes civil litigation, criminal defense, family law, divorce and child custody, real estate law and estate planning. Firm management intends to also handle federal sector labor and employment law as well as military and security clearance law from the new office.
Tully Rinckey has more than 120 employees firmwide, including 70 attorneys. Along with founding partners Tully and Greg Rinckey, many of its attorneys are U.S. military veterans. The firm’s other offices are in Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Washington D.C., and San Diego.
