Tully Rinckey PLLC is pleased to announce that founding partner Mathew B. Tully, Esq. and managing partner Greg T. Rinckey, Esq. have been selected to instruct the newly developed Law Practice Management course at Albany Law School.
This is the first time that Albany Law School will have a course focused on the business aspect of working in the legal field.
The course will prepare law students for private practice and look at the way law firms are organized, the roles of partners and associates, and how non-attorney personnel functions in the law office setting.
“Law schools often omit the economic reality that the practice of law is a business. When law students get into the real world, they face the harsh reality that to earn a living as a lawyer, they also have to learn the aspects of business,” said Rinckey. “The new course will let students see how a law firm works from the business angle and give them the understanding required to generate a thriving practice.”
Rinckey handles the daily managerial responsibilities of the Albany-based law firm Tully Rinckey PLLC. The firm, which opened in 2004, has grown into one of the largest law firms in the Capital Region.
The course is scheduled to take place over the 2009 Winter Interim Session.
Tully and Rinckey are both available for interview regarding their involvement in the new course. For more information about the course or the importance of law practice management, please contact Graig Cortelyou at 5182187100 or via email at gcortelyou@1888law4life.com.
