Nicole M. Helmer, Esq. is a Partner with the firm concentrating her practice in family, matrimonial and appellate law.

Nicole regularly deals with matters involving child custody and visitation, child support, divorce, and the preparation of prenuptial and separation agreements. Additionally, she handles abuse and neglect matters, along with juvenile delinquent and persons in need of supervision (PINS) matters. Nicole has also received Law Guardian training and certification, which permits her to represent children involved in various family court and divorce matters.

Nicole received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Le Moyne College, then proceeded directly to Albany Law
School and received her Juris Doctorate. While at Albany
Law School, Nicole earned a concentration in Family and Elder Law. During the pursuit of her legal education at Albany Law School, Nicole participated in client counseling competitions as well as a judicial externship through the clinical legal studies program. Prior to coming to Tully Rinckey, Nicole’s previous work experience includes the Malone, New York based law firm of Poissant, Nichols & Grue where her practice was concentrated in Family and Matrimonial Law.

Nicole is a member of the New York State Bar Association in the Family Law and Young Lawyer’s Sections, the American Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division and the Rensselaer County Bar Association. Nicole is an active member of the Albany-Colonie Chamber Women’s Business Council and serves as a chair of the Women of Excellence committee. She currently serves on the Gilda’s Club Young Leadership Council and is a member of the Capital Region’s “Out of Control” Ski Club, as well as the Capital Region Chapter of the Executive Women’s Golf Association.
