What:
Manhattan Supreme
Court Justice Edward
H. Lehner yesterday
gave the Legislature
and Governor David
A. Paterson 90 days
to adjust the pay of
the state's 1,300
judges to reflect
the rise in the cost
of living since
their last raise
A poll by Siena
College Research
Institute found that
out of 622 New York
registered voters
polled, 55% of them
were opposed to the
pay raise. The raise
will impact
taxpayers statewide
who are struggling
with the same high
cost of living.
