Hanft Appointed as Legislative Assistant to Troy City Council

November 20, 2008 – Troy, NY – Tully Rinckey PLLC is pleased to announce that Richard Hanft, Esq. has been appointed to the position of Legislative Assistant to the Troy City Council.

The City Council works with the executive branch of government within the city to enact laws and pass legislation that serves as a framework for the ongoing operation of city management.

“It’s been a pleasure to have Troy as the base for my practice for more than 35 years,” said Hanft. “I look forward to serving the city once again in my new capacity.”

Hanft has previously served as legal counsel to several Rensselaer County government entities, including service as the Troy Corporation Counsel, Counsel to the Majority and the Minority of the Rensselaer County Legislature, the Rensselaer County Sewer District, the Town of North Greenbush Sewer District and Town Attorney to the Town of Nassau.

Hanft currently serves Of Counsel at Tully Rinckey PLLC, where he focuses his practice on municipal and family and matrimonial law.

Hanft replaces Victor DeBonis, Esq. who resigned on October 17.
